From careful selection to farm collection

Cattle finishing is a sequence of decisions, not a single feeding formula. Selection, adjustment, nutrition and health management all contribute to the animal presented to the buyer.

The Shajra Livestock Journey

Here is how our farm journey comes together

Stage 01

Select for a sound start

The right animal comes first.

We source Sahiwal, Cholistani and Desi crossbred calves and growing cattle suitable for our fattening programme. Selection considers overall condition, body structure, mobility, appetite and growth potential. Breed identity is part of the assessment — not a substitute for inspecting the animal itself.

Stage 02

Settle into farm life

Give growth a stable foundation.

Newly sourced cattle need time to adjust to a different environment and ration. Attention centres on appetite, behaviour and general condition. Feed changes are introduced progressively, with health concerns referred for veterinary assessment.

Stage 03

Feed for steady development

Local feed. Balanced nutrition. Purposeful growth.

Our diets combine nutrient-dense local fodder, grains and balanced silage. Rations are managed according to the cattle's size, condition and stage of finishing. The objective is steady development supported by suitable energy, protein, fibre and mineral intake — not indiscriminate feeding. Clean water and hygienic feed handling remain essential throughout.

Stage 04

Protect health throughout

Preventive care is part of production.

Our health programme includes scheduled vaccinations, parasite management where appropriate and veterinary attention when needed. Daily observation helps identify changes in feeding, movement and behaviour.

We do not use added growth hormones or anabolic steroids for weight gain. Where veterinary medicines are necessary, applicable withdrawal periods must be observed before an animal enters the food chain.

Stage 05

Assess the finish

Readiness is more than size.

As cattle progress, we assess their development, body condition and suitability for the intended sale. Commercial buyers may prioritise a particular weight range or a more closely matched group. Individual buyers may place greater emphasis on breed, appearance, size or budget.

Animals are offered according to their characteristics and current availability — not a blanket promise that every animal will perform identically.

Stage 06

Inspect, agree and reserve

Make the decision with the animal in front of you.

Visit the farm to inspect available cattle and discuss the relevant pricing model. Once you select an animal, confirm its identity, price basis and booking terms.

A non-refundable PKR 10,000 deposit per animal secures a 24-hour hold. Confirm the exact deadline before payment.

Stage 07

Collect from the farm

A clear handover to the buyer.

Collection takes place at our Toba Tek Singh facility. Buyers arrange their own suitable livestock transport and coordinate the collection time with our team. Please discuss vehicle access, headcount and loading arrangements before dispatching your transporter.

Our service covers the farm-stage journey through sale and collection. Onward transport, slaughter and processing are arranged by the buyer.

Stage 04, in detail

Livestock health monitoring & disease prevention

Protecting health is not a single task. Five strands run alongside each other throughout an animal's time on the farm, and each one supports the others.

Livestock health monitoring & disease prevention

  • Regular health checks
  • Vaccinations and preventive care
  • Disease recognition and response
  • Biosecurity measures
  • Monitoring feed efficiency

We do not use added growth hormones or anabolic steroids for weight gain. Where veterinary medicines are necessary, applicable withdrawal periods must be observed before an animal enters the food chain.
